Wow. Apparently I pissed off my first Mastodon user to the point they deleted their post. They were complaining about tools using PNG instead of JPeG. All I did was a lot of software does that as JPeG was patent encumbered, and PNG was designed to not to be.
Sorry person I apparently angered! Wasn't meant to be like that. Little did I know that graphics file formats was the subject that dare not speak its name.
@Samizdata jpeg/jpg does not allow transparency, png does and is a lossless format... therefore png is better.
@Aine Agreed on that point, but I think the devs are more enamored by the lack of legal and financial entanglements.
