it's so bizarre that everyone's judgment of mastodon's success uses the same rubric as twitter's success.
for me, marginalized ppl feeling loved, cared for, and supported in a radical, restorative space is a success and I don't think forbes will ever understand that
@Akatookey Meh, I think people are just tired of being censored or banned because for their opinions.
@Akatookey 1) do the people using it feel that they benefit from doing so or does it have a positive impact generally? 2) Does that continue to happen? If so, success! regardless of other metrics IMHO
@Akatookey Seems to me it's already a smashing success. ^_^
@Akatookey I recognise "twitter" and "mastodon" but what is this "forbes" thing? #isitabookshop?
@caitlin lol, forbes magazine wrote a goofy article about mastodon and why it will fail. i'm not even gonna bother linking it
@Akatookey ah. Yes it will fail, as will Forbes and all things in time.
@Akatookey remember : Twitter is no success yet ! We don't have to measure !
@Akatookey I love this thought and I feel the same way (and I'm so psyched you're going to be a mod soon!).
