I worry sometimes about the UX of Mastodon if everything that's not entirely pithy goes under a CW.
I, of course, respect the reasons why anyone would ask for one. But the more things end up under CW, the more I become trained to just reflexively open them whether it's good for me or not.
I think it would be nice if users could opt to permanently open certain CW words. Like "tech", the example that got me thinking about this.

I treat the CW as a subject line or summary. I really like your point about length: if I'm going to invest any effort into it, I want to know what it will be beforehand.
