I would be interesteed in your thoughts on something:
Why is unionizing in IT so difficult? What can we do to facilitate it?

Understand this. Diversity means a change of culture. You cannot maintain a professional culture, attractive to capital, while acheiving actual diversity. Actual diversity means women who talk about their bodies, black people who mention their experiences, queer people who discuss their relationships, and people with disabilities who challenge you on accessibility

Teachers Strike in Denver, Asking for Aid
Much like in Los Angeles, the teachers in the Denver Public School system are preparing to strike.
If a resolution is not reached tomorrow night, the teachers will go on strike. After 18 months of bad faith negotiating on the part of the school system, I doubt they will reach an equitable agreement for teachers.
If you have the resources to spare, please support the strike fund.

I really wish Abbyy Finereader wasn't a proprietary OCR because I've found that it works the best in converting pdf to epub (even bether than open source alts like tesseract), and even though most of the time I rather use cli tools it is handy with Gui OCRs to be able to delete misidentifications or irrelavant such as page number, edit detected text, and highlight small parts of the page for rescanning (sometimes things get missed with whole pagescans)
