We all have an opportunity to help shape the culture of this place and I'd love, love, love if it were "oh, everyone posts alt text with their images because that's just what you do."

as a friendly reminder, we love CWs! use them generously! they're fun for jokes... and they keep people safe. keeping people safe is awesome.

some things that CWs love to tag: words or images that contain politics, violence, religion, lewd stuff, weapons, food, mental and physical health, weight loss/body size talk, storms, drugs, bigory, and hilarious (or not hilarious) jokes.

Like, the response to, "I don't have any family," is, at max, "Oh, sorry." Not, "What do you mean?" Or asking how their relatives died or why they are not in touch with the living ones or questioning if they REALLY have NO family by asking, "Not even aunts or uncles or cousins?"

Depressing but necessary holiday PSA: Don't assume everyone has "family." Some people have families they can't talk to. Some people's families are dead. Don't assume "family" is the default. And if someone says they have no family, don't press them.

it seems reasonable to me that one's response to "please don't call me [word]" ought to be "ok, i won't," and not "actually it's fine if i call you [word] because"
