#gameing idea: ostensibly a generic but good high fantasy RPG, with a dashing generic white hero, clad in shining armour with a big sword, and so on. You get the idea. Then, 20 seconds after the intro cutscene ends and you begin adventuring, a wee gnome jumps out of the bushes and kills the hero. You play as the wee gnome now, in a different quest from the setup and intro. The gnome and its storyline is not in any of the trailers, advertising or promotional material.
