FUN FACT: Uber lost about $5B last year. If fares were set high enough to just break even they would cost more than a traditional taxi. Every rideshare you take is subsidized by the finance industry in a ploy to profit off the destruction of unionized companies and public transit

@gkciww If we keep using Uber and also make surfer it fails, that even more money drained from the finance industry!

@gkciww I realize it's not your post but do you have a source for the numbers I can shove down people's throats?

@gkciww If the Uber backers are trying to destroy mass transit then their actions will produce a situation in which ride-services cannot operate.

Should mass transit cease then all those passenger miles end up on the roads. Where would those displaced passenger miles fit in the current road network?

No space. Nothing moves. No Uber. Endgame!

@crowdyke @gkciww In most American cities "Public Transit" is a handful of buses.

All those passengers are already on the roads, just not in personal cars.

@apLundell @gkciww Agreed. My thoughts are that transporting say 20 people in a bus takes up the road space of one bus. Move each of those passengers into a car and assuming two cars into one bus length you require seven cars per 20 passengers.

Anticapitalist Mastodon instance. Party means fun, not political party. But we're still political.
