I put my book in the public domain because I believe that it is more important for people to have access knowledge and the freedom to do what they want with it than anything that could possibly be gained by attempting to copyright it or otherwise control it.

I put my name on it not because I care about attribution but because it makes it easy to track me down for questions, collaborations, or corrections.

You hate me and want to print copies without my name? I legitimately don’t give a shit. Good that you’re getting knowledge to other people. I hope they use it.

I know there are many ethical and philosophical reasons to support abolishing IP an copyright, but I’m just saying strictly practically. You can do more good with free creations that are made public domain than if you even use a CC-BY license and make people attribute use
