I’m sick to death of people being precious about #GMO produce. Functionally there is no difference between a grape bred to have little or no seed and a grape that has been modified in a lab for the same thing. Y’all are just scared of science.
You wanna talk about #Monsanto charging for “licenses” for their crops, ok. Talk about agribusiness killing the planet, ok. Talk about corporations copyrighting genetic code, ok. These are all valid concerns.
But the science is sound.
Conservatives, stop using the insult "soy boy" to refer to carnists. Let us earn your hate. #vegan #reclaimsoyboy
Labour's policies are hideously regressive at times, but it's good to see some of them still have their heads screwed on, and their loyalties in the right place.
Wayne Swan loudly proclaiming we don't want to become the US wrt inequality, and that taxing the rich has given us universal education and healthcare we need to preserve.
Also join your union.
I propose a new ideology: #antifatalism
It's about the affirmative belief that humans can change the things that can in principle be changed by humans: Climate change, War, Poverty, etc. We don't have to be resigned to the idea that misery is neverending.
There's no natural law (not even entropy) that says we cannot fix these things. There's only us.
(Note that antifatalism does not imply belief in free will.)
So, I'm currently reading "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance", and I've just reached the stretch on "quality"
The narrator is insisting that "quality" is neither subjective nor objective, and I'm sitting here perplexed how it's not instantly obvious that "quality" is an inter-subjective belief, a shared set of cultural and evolutionary subjective opinions, passed around in memes and genes.
Like. Dude. It's right there. Fuck.

"San Francisco and Pittsburgh alike need to confront the collapse of the middle class. Manufacturing jobs aren’t coming back, and we can’t educate huge numbers of Americans for knowledge jobs. Instead, we must turn the nearly 60 million low-wage service jobs in food preparation, retail, and childcare into higher-wage, family-supporting jobs.
