Biodegradation of polyester polyurethane by Aspergillus tubingensis
A novel fungus was isolated from soil and identified as Aspergillus tubingensis. The plastic degrading ability of the fungus was tested in three different ways in the presence of 2% glucose: (a) on SDA agar plate, (b) in liquid MSM, and (c) after burial in soil. Our results indicated that this strain of A. tubingensis was capable of degrading plastic.
