Unless you're a fucking rock, *everybody* uses communication via one means or another, with a few exceptions, and even those exceptions have communicative means, they're just not recognized by some.

Listen, as I said at the beginning: the tech of a platform, and the people using it, *are two different things*. It might be a convenient slighthand for some to conflate the two, but they're still different.

@shoutcacophony @KevinCarson1 The difference with free code is that we can make an exact copy of the building somewhere else, and recruit more builders into our community, or help people we already have get trained up in building maintenance. This is a *major* advantage over squatting bricks'n'mortar buildings #ForkingIsASharedSuperPower

@strypey @KevinCarson1 this is why i'm glad to see people who are active in FOSS dev on here saying that forking is healthy, rather then pulling up "why forking is bad" discourse.

forking can be counter-productive if it's for someone's ego or they're contributing in ways that would be better served if they stuck to an existing project -- neither of these things are true in this situation
