Harry Potter and the Amazingly Huge MacGuffin Designed to Distract the Reader from The Lack of Coherent Themes or Meaning
@kara Harry Potter and the Inevitable Disappointment
@shoutcacophony I feel like I should be a little nicer about Harry Potter since I really did only read about 60-70% of all the books before getting tired of them
like, maybe it got a lot better? from what I've picked up, though, I think I'd actually have gotten angrier. like with the Snape-worship
@kara It's not even Harry Potter for me so much as a lot of novels in general. Plot and the characters that partially or completely serve the plot seems to be the order of things. It's annoying
@kara I didn't make it all the way through the series though, tbh. Fifth book, if I recall. It's been a while.
@shoutcacophony yeah, that's where I crapped out. started reading "Order of the Phoenix", got bored, skipped to the end (which as I recall was like one or two chapters solid of Potter throwing a temper tantrum)
