i am extremely despondent and lonely for valid reasons and truly understand why people kill themselves during the holidays

the UN is coming to oakland, presumably to see for themselves the mistreatment and invisibility of people who are living outside, struggling to keep or find housing, and fighting to stay alive. unfortunately, seeing as the UN has no real power to enforce the human rights they claim to, i don’t foresee any real solution coming out of this visit. but maybe it will galvanize every day people into action, if they somehow do not yet realize the extent of the crisis unfolding around them.

i have been really enjoying ken knabb’s situationist anthology. hard to read at times (and i should relearn french) but it’s stimulating to learn about the intersections of art, the moment, and revolutionary thought.
