I have a #django/#python question.
Would it be possible to write a #programm in django, which takes an email, lets it sort by categorie(a, b, c case) and than extracts a provided #telefon number, puts that number in a call-cue and finally let me make all needed calls for the day after #mail-processing? #followerpower #programming
@syndikalista ist die Frage, ob man mit Python telefonieren kann oder willst Du nur die Liste von Nummern zusammen stellen?
@benni wenn es geht auch das telefonieren machen. Es gibt wohl die twillo-api mit der das möglich sein sollte
@syndikalista wenn es nur um Email processing geht verstehe ich noch nicht wofür du django brauchst. Aber kenne mich mit django auch nicht aus.
@benni Weil ich denke ich ne gui brauche, mit der ich was anfangen kann, basic django eine anbietet und ich nicht mit python mich um das "problem" einer gui am anfang kümmern möchte...

@syndikalista ok. klang wie ein batchjob. persönlich würde ich vermutlich was anderes nehmen, aber geschmacksache. vorteil ist natürlich auch, dass man es relativ einfach aufbohren kann, falls man es doch mal von aussen bedienen will.

@syndikalista gute Frage. Gibt ja Möglichkeiten wie Sand am Meer. Vermutlich einfach Kommandozeile. Aber ich kenne das Problem ja gar nicht.
@syndikalista don’t see the web in any of that — so why Django?
@edsu i am not a programmer, but in my mind it makes more sense to use a basic Django-GUI instead of fiddling with a python one, i do not understand yet. Web not in sense of public available but as in run in your localhost
@syndikalista ok thanks, I think I understand better now ... I guess I was wondering why not start with a small program that runs from cron, reads the mailbox and appends to a daily CSV that you could open in a spreadsheet editor. You could repurpose the program later as part of a django app, as you understand the extraction and workflow better.
Or you could start with the webapp too--that makes perfect sense to use Django like that.
@edsu thank you for the suggestion. I read a few times now, that instead of just blandly learn a programming language, start with a problem/solution you want to have in place and start thinking about, how to put it in place and learn the language while doing/creating it. And i am used to think in workflows, so thats where i started thinking about...
@syndikalista i'm sure you can do that!
