Mycroft + Google AIY Voicekit

So Google's AIY Voicekit is a really cool mic + speaker + button combo thing that you attach to a Raspberry Pi and it fits in a cool little cardboard box. It's designed for you to "hack" on Google's AI stack, of course. BUT you can get it to work with . However, you have to install some of Google's custom repos to get it working, so when they update some fuckin' pile of shit code, it all falls apart.

The culprit this week is 'protobuf'.

Playing with .

ME: "Hey, Jarvis."

ME: "Tell me about this day in history."

JARVIS: [On this day in 1002 – English king Æthelred II orders the killing of all Danes in England, known today as the St. Brice's Day massacre.]

ME: *spits coffee* "holy shit!"

I actually installed on a Raspberry Pi this morning, and got it connected to my Pi and controlling stuff.

It's a little bit rough. Some of the things I say aren't interpreted quite right. And the microphone isn't working yet, but after treading water with , this is pretty exciting.
